Potlatch Pinnacle Finger-joint Studs

Increasingly, builders are choosing Potlatch Pinnacle finger-joint studs for wall framing. With post-planed nailing edges to eliminate offset, Pinnacle studs help abate the twisting and warping that costs builders time and money during the framing process—and help reduce callbacks and material waste at the job site.

Carefully crafted at our Bemidji, Minnesota sawmill, Potlatch Pinnacle finger-joint studs are a better alternative to solid-sawn lumber in vertical applications where dimensional stability is important. Here's why.

Strength: A combination of the ideal 5/8" profile gives Potlatch Pinnacle finger-joint studs maximum joint strength, making them ideal for almost any vertical application where strength and dimensional stability are essential. Finger-joint studs are designed for vertical use only and are not suitable for horizontal applications.

Stability: Potlatch Pinnacle finger-joint studs are proven performers in the climatic conditions that cause solid-sawn studs to twist and warp—including high humidity. Our lumber is kiln-dried before the finger-joint matching process to ensure the highest levels of strength and stability. Natural defects that affect performance are removed from the lumber and each stud is manufactured with a minimum of three glued joints, further reducing the risk of warping and twisting.

Length and grade: Potlatch Pinnacle finger-joint studs are manufactured in these common dimensions: 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 in lengths of 8', 9', and 10'. In addition to stud grade, we now offer a #2 grade stamp on our finger-joint studs. Supply is subject to
